Whokulele? YOUkulele! Ukulele Made Easy is brought to you by two very creative musical sisters, Lavonna Zeller-Williams-Bratschi, and Aletha McKennon.
Lavonna is a professional singer, songwriter/arranger, private voice instructor, Mom, wife and music teacher from Happy Valley, Oregon. She currently teaches Middle School Choir at West Orient Middle School in Gresham, Oregon. She enjoys presenting workshops across the nation to help other music teachers bring new life into their music programs whether it be by teaching Ukulele or by adding creative dramatic techniques into the elementary music classroom. She is available to provide a workshop for you too! Feel free to contact her at: zellerwear@gmail.com for more information.
Aletha, the older (and much wiser) sister, is a very talented songwriter, Mom, wife and music teacher from Newberg, Oregon. She currently teaches General Music at Mabel Rush Elementary in Newberg. She has written several children's musicals for her students to perform which contain wonderful original songs, with creative story lines and good, wholesome messages that kids LOVE to perform. She also teaches guitar and ukulele to students from kindergarten and up. Some of her original ukulele songs are included in our book which is designed to help students learn to play both melody and chords. These songs are tried and true, becoming favorites of her students to play. One student, after playing one of Aletha's songs entitled, Mississippi Bayou, exclaimed, "That has to be the BEST pickin' song we ever did play!" We trust that your students will love them too.
